About the Project

The NC3 Well Head Monitoring project is an industrial IoT system developed to track the condition and movement of well heads located on an offshore platform. Operating in a challenging Zone 0 hazardous environment with high temperatures and remote access, the project required a robust, low-maintenance solution for real-time monitoring.

To address these constraints, the system employs industrial-grade, battery-powered laser sensors strategically placed at three positions around each well head. These sensors continuously log movement and are equipped with LoRa communication modules to transmit data reliably over long distances, even from isolated offshore locations.

The collected data is transmitted to a centralized control room and visualized through a dedicated dashboard, enabling engineers to monitor well head positions accurately and respond proactively to any changes. This solution ensures safety, operational transparency, and reliable monitoring without the need for constant on-site maintenance.
